Q: What does your facility have to offer?

A: When we designed our Myers Pets at Peace facility, we kept the needs of the pet owner in mind. First and foremost, our facility is a welcoming and friendly place where the pet owner, family and friends can feel safe to grieve their loss and make lasting memories in a meaningful service of remembrance. The Pet Memorial Lounge may be reserved for a family gathering in paying tribute and saying goodbye to your departed pet companion.

Our entire operation takes place under one roof and your cherished animal friend will stay under our attentive and compassionate care from the moment your pet arrives under our stewardship. The cremation takes place within the building in our top-of-the-line crematory. We are the only pet crematory in the state to offer you the option to observe our operation through a view window in the Pet Memorial Lounge, if you desire to do so. Our comfortable reception area gives the pet owner a peaceful place to make the final decisions for their pet. We also have a library of pet loss and grief counseling books for both adults and children that may be checked out by the public.

Also housed under the same roof is an extensive urn gallery with displays in a variety of materials as well as keepsakes, jewelry, pet portrait blankets, and pet caskets. In addition to the on-site urn gallery, we also have a complete memorialization catalogue on this website with pricing and engraving information.

Q: What is cremation?

A: When an animal is cremated, it is placed in the cremation chamber where heat and evaporation combine to reduce the body to its basic elements which are referred to as cremated remains or cremains. After cooling, the bone fragments are processed into a fine powder resembling ashes. Carefully these ashes are placed in a permanent urn or temporary vessel. Some of the ashes may also be incorporated into keepsakes, jewelry, or hand-blown glass art pieces as a unique celebration of your loved pet reflected through form, color and light.

Q: What are the different cremation options you offer?

A: At Myers Pets at Peace we offer two different dignified cremation options: Private and Memorial Group Cremations.

At Myers Pets at Peace, private cremation is our specialty. This type of cremation takes place with your pet alone in the cremation chamber. In order to eliminate any doubt or uncertainty about the integrity of the cremation, we utilize our Positive Pets Tracking System to identify your pet throughout the entire cremation process. Positive Pets Tracking System guarantees that the ashes you receive are in fact the cremated remains of your pet.

We are the only pet crematory in the state to offer the public the option to observe the cremation process through a view window in our Pet Memorial Lounge. Once your pet is in our care, the complete cremation is usually finished within 24-48 hours. Upon completion, your pet’s ashes are removed from the chamber, processed and returned to you in the personalized pet urn and/or keepsake of your choice.

Memorial Group Cremation:

With this type of collective cremation, several pets may be placed together in the cremation chamber. The cremated remains are not returned to the pet owner, but are scattered on our mountain property.

Q: What is the cremation process:

A: Myers Pets at Peace provides a five-step process to ensure you, the pet owner, receive the ashes of your pet using the Positive Pets Tracking system. Whether we carry out the pet removal from your residence or the veterinarian’s clinic or you bring your pet to our facility, we will immediately identify your pet with an ID number which is engraved on a steel cremation disc and stays with your pet through the entire process. This identification number is recorded and the disc remains with your pet in the cremation chamber throughout the cremation. After proper cooling and processing of the cremains, the ID disc is transferred with the ashes of your pet into the urn of your choice. On your certificate of cremation, the identification number is recorded to give you the peace of mind that you received the ashes of your pet companion.

Q: Can I watch the cremation?

A: Myers Pets at Peace welcomes you to visit our open-to-the public facility. In our Pet Memorial Lounge, we designed an interior viewing window with a full view of the preparation room and crematory equipment. This viewing window presents the pet owner and family with the option, if they desire, to observe the cremation operation. For many pet owners, seeing that it is really their pet that is gently placed in the cremation chamber with the Positive Pets Tracking identification disc, brings an added peace of mind. The cremation chamber door will automatically close before the cremation begins and will remain closed until the process is completed.

Q: How long does the cremation process take?

A: The amount of time needed for the cremation depends on the size and weight of the pet. From the smallest to the largest pet weighing over 200lbs. the time might vary between 30 minutes to 3 hours.

Q: How do I know that the ashes I receive are those of my pet?

A: At Myers Pets at Peace, our policy is one of transparency and openness. We welcome the public to visit our facility and observe our operation through a view window in our Pet Memorial Lounge. To ensure that the pet owner receives the ashes of their pet, we use the Positive Pets Tracking system.

In a five-step process, the deceased pet is immediately identified with an identification number engraved on a steel disc. As soon as the pet reaches our facility, the pet’s name and Positive Pets Tracking ID number are meticulously recorded in our cremation ledger. During the cremation, the identification disc remains with the pet in the cremation chamber. As the cremated remains are removed from the crematory, the Positive Pets Tracking identification disc follows in the cooling and processing stages. The last step includes transferring the pet’s ashes and identification disc into the memorial urn of choice. As proof of the integrity of the cremation process, you, the pet owner will receive a cremation certificate with the Positive Pets Tracking identification number of your pet.

Q: How much does a pet cremation cost?

A: The cost depends on if you chose the Private Cremation or Memorial Group Cremation option and the weight of your pet. A Private Cremation, where your pet is cremated alone in the cremation chamber and you receive the certified ashes of your pet in return, may cost between $110-310 depending on your pet’s weight.

If it is not important to you to have your pet’s ashes returned to you as a memory of your pet companion, you may chose the Memorial Group Cremation. In this cremation option, your pet will be placed and cremated with several other pets and the ashes will be scattered on our mountain property. The prices for memorial cremations vary depending on the pet’s weight between $40-90.

Please refer to our pricing page for specific pricing according to your pet’s weight.

Q: How long after cremation may I expect to receive my pet’s ashes?

A: At Myers Pets at Peace, we understand that losing a pet can be a very traumatic and painful experience. In our compassionate end-of-life care of your pet, we never forget that your pet is cherished and missed. We understand how important it is to you to have your pet’s ashes returned to you in a prompt manner. Our motto includes the words “Responsive, Compassionate and Experienced” and we make it a priority to return your pet’s ashes in a timely way after the cremation process is completed.

The completed cremation, cooling and processing usually take between 24- 48 hours. You may come to our Myers Pets at Peace facility to claim the ashes of your pet after that time period or have them delivered to your veterinarian clinic, mailed or personally delivered to your home.

Q: Do you offer burial services?

A: Our compassionate Pet Loss Counselors will coordinate your pet’s burial at a pet specialty cemetery named Tiffany Memorial Park, adjacent to Ogden City Cemetery. In our Myers Pets at Peace facility, we have a pet casket collection on display in varying sizes. Our Urn Gallery page on this website also contains caskets available to order.
