For over 32 years, Shaun Myers has worked to set high standards in funeral service. As a graduate of the University of Minnesota, he has excelled in funeral service. He earned the distinction of Certified Funeral Service Practitioner from the Academy of Funeral Service Practitioners; served as President of the Utah Funeral Directors Association; and member of the National Funeral Directors Executive Committee and Policy Board; He was the chair of the National Funeral Service Foundation; chair of the Utah Funeral Service Board and member of the Utah Preneed Funeral Board. He enjoys community service and has served as a Trustee to the Weber State University Board of Trustees; President of WSU Alumni Association, Wildcat Club, Mt. Ogden Rotary and the Foundation for Hospice Northern Utah.

When Shaun was a young boy, his family raised Irish Setters. His favorite was Blaze, who was a gentle, kind member of the family. Shaun spent many happy days with his loyal friend and constant summer companion. Blaze taught Shaun about kindness, happiness and the importance of positive, good relationships. Shaun learned the importance of hard work and responsibility as his father, Richard, loved the Western Lifestyle and always kept horses in a pasture behind the family home. Shaun helped to train, break and care for those horses. He especially enjoyed observing and assisting their mares with the miracles of birth and he developed a great love for the young colts they raised and trained.

Shaun and his wife, Christina, and their pet loving family of six children, have learned the important stewardship we have to care for our beloved furry friends. The Myers family has loved many dogs, cats, rabbits and other small critters. In the process, the Myers family has been exposed to a pet’s cycle of birth, life and death which has taught them valuable lessons of great happiness and sadness as they have lovingly cared for their pet companions.

Shaun has always believed that there is a better way to care for the end-of-life sorrows we all experience with the loss of our pet companions. For that reason, the Myers family established Pets at Peace, which uniquely offers pet owners every type of compassionate pet memorialization option.
